Choices
We all have free will. I've mentioned it before and will most likely mention it again. However it seems as if we struggle with the full concept and responsibility that comes with free will. This is a gift from HIM that grants us opportunity to make Choices along our journey towards our ultimate destiny. It is these choices that ultimately determine which destiny will be fulfilled. Will we fulfill our true purpose, or will we simply exist to find fulfillment in ourselves?
Let me explain a bit more.
Our lives have many different definitive points that were predetermined long before our very existence. We are given moments of great joy and we are given moments of great sorrow. It is within these moments that we are tested. No, these tests are not set to be cruel jokes passed down from the powers that be... they are meant to prepare us for our ultimate destinies.
Let me go a bit deeper in this notion...
Remember when you received that awesome gift that one time? Remember the joy you felt... the elation and gratitude?... Did you take it and discard all other things? Did you even remember to say thank you to the giver?
How about, conversely... that time you received nothing, but hoped for the world? Did you hold the pain in your heart or did you seek out understanding? Do you still think of it today and if so do you use the memory as a blessing for another; in that you don't want anyone else to feel as you did? Or do you perpetuate the negative emotions by projecting them onto others?
I know these are a lot of questions... but sometimes we must question ourselves in order to find our truth.
Bottom line is this. We must always be aware of the affects of our choices. Yes, you may just be casting one stone in the ocean of life... but we've all seen the ripples that follow that single action. Our actions may not dictate our ultimate destiny, but they do make an impact. You don't have to live for your neighbor, but you should live with your neighbor in mind.
