Scoreboard
A Scoreboard is generally used within competitions to track the progress of opposing sides in order to determine a winner at the end of what is predetermined as the completion of the designated activity. You might be thinking... "Ummmm, okay... I know what a scoreboard is." There is a point, I promise.
Many times people get caught up in competing with the Jones' of the world that they forget to live to their own happiness and begin functioning in direct competition of those that are supposed to be their neighbors. I'm no different than most in this respect, with the exception that I recognize the err of this existence and have therefore opted for change. However, in many cases... recognition and subsequent change is the exception to this rule. There are people out there that only know success based on what they can achieve over another. Even more; there are those out there that keep track of the slights of another.
I think it goes without saying that this is not the road to happiness. One can never truly feel happy in their own skin when they constantly focus on that of another. We must instead choose to be happy in whatever our circumstances may be, yet strive for greatness; while lifting our neighbor up in kind. It is not true that people rise to the top by stepping on others... this method will never lead to true success. Instead we must travel on HIS wings and bring our neighbors with us when/ if we can. If we can't bring someone up during our moment(s) of elevation... we must always remember to leave a trail for those that wish to follow behind.
Life is NOT a competition. It is not a game. It is a beautiful gift and opportunity... How you choose to use your opportunity is up to you. Just remember to bring the willing with you, otherwise you never know...
