Downgrade to Upgrade
Today Target stores released a notice to customers that have shopped at their stores from November 27th - December 15th. They informed the public that their systems had been hacked, resulting in the breach of credit card information. The press release further went to say that as many as 40 MILLION credit cards had been affected.
OK... I understand the conveniences that we are granted from the advancements in technology. We can swipe a card to purchase goods, we can contact one another with the touch of a finger to device, and we can get from one destination to another in the proverbial blink of the eye. Yet, do these conveniences truly make our lives easier? Think about it, there was a time when we would sit down together and have conversations. Now we struggle to look each other in the eye because we are too busy on our tablets or smart phones. We have plugged so far into the matrix that we can no longer distinguish ourselves from our devices.

The new drug of choice IS Materialism.
The division of the haves and the have nots is astonishing and it seems that with each passing day, there is a new trend that we are fed to prove our status in this world of things. We've lost touch with who we are inherently and have in-turn disconnected from ourselves and one another. We are constantly kept busy with the notion of "more". Yet, there is never enough. Never enough money, never enough material goods, never enough acclaim.
Simply put, we are facing a time when we must 'downgrade' materialistically in order to 'upgrade' intrinsically. And apparently (based on recent events); we can either decide to do this on our own... or have our hands forced by that which is out of our human control. It is time for us to wake-up!
