Reasons Why We CAN
Ever have a moment, day, week or even year when it seems as if
things just keep going wrong?
[Yes, I know I spoke
about this yesterday... but stick with me; I promise this is going
somewhere new.]
...You can't seem to dig yourself out of
the hole that life has
seem to have dumped you in. You vent about
it, you might even complain about
it; but you can't see a foreseeable way out because everything you do results
in perceived failure. I mean, why should you even bother?!
Well, break out the bubbly because you are
now the host, guest and planner of your very own personal pity party.
Again, don't get me wrong; as I've hosted 1, 2 or 9,999,999 in my day and
I suspect that I haven't seen my last shindig quite yet. Yet I mention
this not simply to point out a negative; but to shine a little light on how we
can shift this way of thought into something that is more productive.
Starting with myself, I vow to try and
accept suggestions with gratitude. I will do my best not to shoot down what others say
because I recognize that they are simply attempting to help me by offering
possible solutions. I will take pause to remind myself that although
every suggestion may not be a viable means of resolution, it is these same
suggestions that can serve as a springboard to what will work for me or my
situation. It is in these very moments that I now choose to gain
insight and see the potential to move my steps in the right direction.
We are in a day and age when dismissal is
the easiest form of self gratification as it relates to keeping ourselves in
the rut we've become comfortable in living. So today is as good a day as
any to reframe our thought process so that instead of focusing on the reasons
why something can't work
for us, we start focusing on the Reasons
Why We Can.
*Positivity is more than a word; it is a
way of being. The choice is yours.*
