Creature of Habit
Have you ever had a habit and realized that it was quite possibly the longest/ most difficult route of going about accomplishing a specific task? You recognize that you are creating more work for yourself, but you do it anyway? For example, when I cook... sometimes I have a habit of getting ingredients out of their respective locations, one item at a time. I just pull each item out as I need it.
Then I may find myself wondering aloud... "I really should just get everything out at once, instead of having to go back-and-forth between the fridge and cabinets." Funny thing is, I continue to take out the items one-by-one. Want to know why?... It's because I'm a Creature of Habit.
Not to say that habits are always a bad thing; BUT if and when we openly recognize something in ourselves as not working, or having the potential to hold us back... Why not change? Saying that we are creatures of habit is just one of those things we use as a crutch to keep us cozy in a stagnant position.
Instead I propose that we become more open to alternate possibilities. There is no point in making excuses on the, "why not's", simply because we are in a position that we have grown accustomed to. Sometimes the best move is the scariest; because it is a leap of faith. However, keep in mind that those leaps are sometimes the very foundation of the faith that sustains us.
Let HIM use you! Don't become complacent with mediocrity.
*Namaste*
